Renowned architects Virgile + Partners were appointed to completely redesign the 2,000 m² ground floor of Harvey Nichols London. PJC Light Studio were appointed by Harvey Nichols to work alongside Virgile + Partners after successful completion of their Birmingham Mailbox store.
A key part of the brief was to help Harvey Nichols establish a differentiating factor to retail in terms of innovation and style. As Carlos Virgil notes: ‘A space with less visual noise, focusing on balance, refinement and fluidity. In one glimpse the new floor encompasses everything Harvey Nichols should be about: style, energy, creativity and service'.
Our solution was to create a hierarchy of interest for customers and to focus the attention on the finishes and products without distraction. Moments of decorative lighting bring playfulness and intimacy to key areas to embellish the story, journey and experience.
